They're DEAD, Jim.

So, if you have been contemplating a spiritually nourishing stint at the Academy for Psychic Studies, know this: you're walking into the Dead Zone.

They aren't dead in the corporeal sense, although the Grim Reaper is circling the compound. They are dead in the sense that there is only a skeleton crew left there to vomit and defecate their own brand of spiritual detritus on unsuspecting seekers of, you know, actual spiritual enlightenment.

When the deranged psychotic founder organized this vile heap of human waste, he was careful to place his Sister Wives in financial and organizational control.  He had to.  There were two women he was splitting time with and as one of them was a newer model than his creaky old daily drive, well, a man has to keep the peace to fill his needs, you know.

Somehow that arrangement worked - until the founder face planted dead right in front of us.  Surprisingly, the cult continued without him thanks to the efforts of his now Sister WIDOWS.

The two Sister Widows of the deranged cult founder survive to this day but won't for much longer.  Alpha Wife is circling the bowl being in the neighborhood of 80 and Baby Mama is rapidly approaching her 70th milestone where you can expect the start of a long, slow decline.

That leaves the remaining overbearing, sanctimonious, sycophant to do all the hard work.  Unfortunately, decades of morbid obesity, diabetes and sleep apnea have resulted in his placement on the kidney transplant list.  Unless he moves up the list but quick, I wouldn't expect to get much out of him for long.

Since we are witnessing the impending demise of an organization and its remaining personnel, there is sure to be at least some amount of grief and fear surrounding them. So, in the spirit of having a laugh at their expense, let's take a look at the Kubler-Ross stages of grief:

  1. Denial
  2. Anger
  3. Bargaining
  4. Depression
  5. Acceptance

From the beginning, they were in denial, thinking this psychic cesspool could never end.
It did.

When the psychotic founder kissed the carpet right in front of us, the Sister Widows entered the anger phase so quick, they completely ignored the need for them to re-organize for their new reality.  They were fuming that their lazy ass followers weren't slaving night and day to pay more and bring in more victims.  So, of course the Sister Widows began an intensive pressure campaign to revive the Widow's flagging fortunes without them making any investment and expending any fucking effort.  That pissed off everyone who remained.
So of course, everyone eventually ran for the exit.

As there were no one left to blame for their own shortcomings, it leaves them where we see them now: Bargaining.

If you sign up for all of their $300 indoctrination and thought reform series, spend $125 every week to listen to one of them spew some of the craziest nonsensical trash you ever heard and purchase one after another and another of their audio/video materials, the Academy for Psychic Studies can continue their campaign to stay alive long enough to reel in more victims.
That isn't happening now and it won't ever.

So, now they will advance to the Depression and Acceptance stages?
Are you fucking shitting me?

The Sister Widows are so expert at denial and deception they cling to the fantasy that they are on the verge of a renaissance, even though the Academy for Psychic Studies' obituary has been written for well over a decade.

Don't worry, though.  If you happen to have a couple three large sitting around you aren't using to fill your tank, put food on the table or cover your ever rising rent and car payment, just drop by and sign up for their whole suite of spiritual nourishment.

Just remember it won't take long for you to get past the Denial stage, progress to Anger, then Bargaining and suddenly find yourself right where the remains of the Academy for Psychic Studies ought to be:
Depression then Acceptance.
