God doesn't let the left hand know what the right hand is doing

As we've found out, the Dubyism "God doesn't let the left hand know what the right hand is doing" was a perversion of the real passage.

The real passage refers to giving to charity with a good heart and to not call attention to yourself as you contribute to charity.

As used at the Spiritual Rights Foundation, it was a was to keep their inner workings hidden from view.

We heard it all the damn time.  Whenever there was something that could not be explained or described, that was the answer. And if you asked a direct question on how things were run, you'd just get cursed at, insulted and otherwise demeaned before the Kangaroo Kourt found you guilty of a transgression you never knew was possible.

I think these people have been looting their own congregation for so long, they have dried up their last amount of remaining humanity and morality.  If you disagree, please leave a comment but I would expect you'll have to dodge the tomatoes aimed right between the dark circles under your eyes, you fucking SRF troll.

If you agree, I would be happy to hear from you.

One such incident was where a person was said to be trying to turn people away from the "teaching" (meaning Spiritual Rights Foundation dogma). This statement was made in the presence of a group of about 12 people. Later, when asked, the church leader who made the statement denied ever making that statement and said that the statement was only to validate the person's faith.

Uh, what?

So, a leader of SRF can lie in front of a dozen people but it's not really a lie.

A phrase made frequently was that "God doesn't let the left hand know what the right hand is doing." I suppose that is the reason why lying and denial are done so much in this cult.

I've seen times where the leadership was giving one opinion about someone, then only a few minutes later, something completely different was said to another person.

The organization of this cult is no less schizophrenic than the leaders.

All operations, ownership and finances of the cult are a closely held secret. Unlike mainstream churches, the board of directors are answerable to no one. Generally, the congregation of a church can know about the actions of the board and can act if problems arise. Not at the Spiritual Rights Foundation.

The board at SRF has no accountability to the stakeholders (the membership) as there would be in a legitimate organization. No accountability means that decisions are made in an ivory tower, finances can be diverted without anyone knowing, and those outside the leadership can be controlled and exploited to give even more money to SRF. It's a great way for improper and illegal activities to go on.

And if you believe the tales I am hearing, they are...

Here are some of the things that are rumored to have happened. Please note that these are rumors and do not necessarily have any basis in fact. Also note that the below allegations have been made elsewhere. I only repeat them:

Fuck it, we all know it's true:

  • It is required that members "donate" money and free labor to support enterprises owned by the church leadership such as the "Blue Sky Ranch" - a farm located in Bethel Island, CA. This "donation" is said to help the spiritual well-being of the member, "giving" it. The clerk-recorder's office in Contra Costa County, CA reveals that the "Blue Sky Ranch" is owned by two persons: Angela Silva and Robin Dumolin, who also serve on the SRF board of directors. The "Blue Sky Ranch" is not owned by the Spiritual Rights Foundation.
  • Private donations to the non-profit church are diverted to for-profit enterprises (like the above-mentioned farm).  Anyone remember coughing up money for animals, animal feed, animal medicine, bullets to kill sick animals and paying to work there, paying for construction materials, paying for the electric generator and paying for all the rest of it?  Weren't your checks made out to "SRF"?
  • Board members are paid a percentage of pre-tax revenues from the for-profit enterprises as well as obtaining income from their tax-exempt church stipends. It is possible pretty much certain that the diversion of the for-profit company revenues are not reported to tax authorities as income (see below).
  • The Spiritual Rights Foundation members have been required to work for SRF-owned for-profit enterprises for no pay.  Work for the "SRF" ranch (actually owned by the individual leaders) was performed by the congregation for FREE.  Buildings were constructed and land cleared using FREE labor.  The "The Spiritual Rights Foundation" ranch was used to raise livestock for sale.  Unfortunately, the "SRF" ranch is not owned by "SRF" at all - the Contra Costa County Recorder's Office shows it's owned by the leaders of SRF, Angela Silva and Robin Dumolin.  Now, do you wonder who's getting the money?
  • Even the few salaried employees of SRF companies (like Liberty Construction) were denied health insurance and other basic benefits (like vacation time) even though the companies could easily afford those benefits if the SRF leadership simply stopped skimming company income for themselves.
  • SRF requires all members to donate "work hours" to the organization - or pay to SRF cash in lieu of performing work hours.
The church has no charitable activities as many other churches would. While giving money or other assistance to members or the public is not required, it's interesting that a non-profit church would not conduct any charitable activities.

What was interesting to note, is that some members of the church were encouraged to obtain welfare and other public assistance when they fell on hard times. No church assistance, other than some coaching on how to fill out forms and what information to disclose to the welfare departments was offered.

At any rate, transparency and accountability are completely unknown at SRF. Why is that? Because according to SRF, God won't let the left hand know what the right hand is doing. And if God operates that way, SRF will as well.

I remember how the office where Sherry worked as the bookkeeper would always be locked while she was doing her work. You were not allowed to go in there and see anything that was going on. The curtains would be drawn over the sliding glass door as well. And there was an aura of not going near that room because if you did, it meant you were some kind of spy with evil intent. Talk about funky energy on their money. It was like the psychic version of Fort Knox. What was going on in there that needed hiding?

I remember Rev. Bill often saying, "Don't fuck with me when it comes to money." And how he always instructed Ang, Robin and Debi to put collecting the money first. If someone couldn't pay, often they wouldn't receive services. If someone was being too difficult, they usually used the fact that they owed money to kick them out. And everyone owed money there because it was impossible not to. How can you support yourself and support "the church", meaning their lazy entitled selves, and have enough money to do so?

Rev. Bill and the Board of Directors thought nothing of taking money from single mothers, the sick, the elderly, anyone really. People who went there worked very hard to survive and then gave a good portion of their income to SRF. People lived like paupers even when they were making a decent living because of the amount of money they were expected to give. And not giving meant you had deep spiritual problems.

To see the most vulnerable people who had very real needs being taken advantage of sickens me. But it doesn't bother the leaders one iota. I remember Debi not feeding her children because the church came first. And then she also had the attitude that others should feed her children because she was doing such important work in the church. Myself and so many others paid to raise her children because it was the right and decent thing to do. And I would add that these same people who kept a roof over her head and her children's heads worked far harder at the church than she did in addition to having full-time jobs. Funny how nobody else except the leaders have an attitude of entitlement.

Here is the irony of their attitude. They thought nothing of putting children last because of the unreasonable time and financial demands they put on the parents. But then they would swoop down and take the children out to lunch or the movies and do all kinds of fun things with them and put out this attitude that they were helping the parents out because the parents were too poor or busy to do these things for their children. But they were the ones who created the parents' stress and financial problems in the first place. Insanity.

I remember when Sherry had breast cancer and had a mastectomy. She was on medication for a year afterwards to continue treating this cancer, a low dose of chemo. This treatment is known to make you tired. So here is Sherry, a woman in her 60s, who had to work full-time because nobody was helping her, who is on chemo, who went through the trauma of breast cancer, and they never helped her or had a kind word to say about her. They only complained about her working for them less and commented on how lazy she had become. They constantly bitched about how she was slacking off on her bookkeeping duties. And they would take her aside to have talks with her about her "attitude." What soulless fucks.

And here is the truth about what Sherry was doing in her locked bookkeeping office. She was instructed to keep two sets of books for the church. One was the official set of books for the IRS and the other was what was actually going on, mainly all of the personal expenses of the leaders that were being paid for by the non-profit. How is that for the integrity of the spiritual leaders?

Very good job, revealing what is going on inside SRF.

I agree, very interesting and revealing writing by anonymous. This person sounds like a well educated former SRFer.
The story about Sherry reminds of the the Story of Sandy. I am sure anonymous remembers Sandy. Sandy was very dedicated and a hard worker. Like most hard core people she lost everything in SRF. She lost her marriage, and especially her youth. Sandy and I worked together for a long time in Santa Clara. She was very generous, and a chronic over-giver. She yearned for someone to pay attention to her. Bill manipulated her and Don apart, and they got divorced. As she got older and couldn't keep up the pace of working at Berkeley, Santa Clara and the Farm, they called her a complainer. She ended up at a hospital in SF and some of the women went to see her. Ang said that she was in the hospital because she was seeking sympathy, and everyone turned against her. We never saw her again, and the SRF leaders were happy to get rid of her and she she got what she deserved. Bill said if you don't practice the teaching with the right dedication you will end up in the gutter. That is his way of justifying the SF retirement plan. The SRF retirement plan is to use people till they are too old, and then leave them to suffer and die on their own.
I saw Sandy on an internet dating sight once, and she seemed to be doing a lot better without SRF. I tried to say hello to her and open a dialogue as kindly as I could, but she never responded and took her add off. I pray she found someone and is happy.

Steve's comment and anonymous comments are accurate. I'm sorry to say as was previously revealed on this blog as well as anyone who went to the cult SRF, that Sandi passed away of MS a few years back. She was a very nice woman who was loving and wanted it in return. I felt so bad at hearing the way she passed away. No one should have to go through that misery. Hopefully, she is with the Lord as her service while on earth is accounted for. I believe that Sherry is just too caught up with this lifestyle and has found a comfort zone at this point. Whats amazing is that I never knew what was going on with her while I was there. The point being as was said, once you get older or physically unable to do things that they see fit, you are on the clock. Once the clock reaches its point with Angela, Robin and Debi, you are discarded, badmouthed and forgotten. Angela, in between bites and shopping on the SRF cult credit card will ceremoniously bad mouth you and her words will spread like wild fire through the building and peoples minds. Your lucky if you even get a mention of positive comments from Robin, only following Angela's lead, and Debi will smile at you then report back to Angela and Robin any final words you might of confined in her, since she pretends to be the church Bishop. I heard her and Dan have been coronated the new leaders of the cult? Anyone ex or current cult member care to confirm this?

Thank you, very well said. She did not deserve the way she was treated. I pray also that she is with the Lord, now receiving compassion and comfort and fulfilling her use.

Don't psychic gypsies do the same thing? Those warped females swear they are goood stewards of the monies coming in. Problem is they are for them not the so called cult church. I guess that's why they got on poor Sherry. They see her as a potential weak link and installed the bishop as taking over the books. Wish she pocketed a lot for her self in the process. I bet the demented females who control others at the SRF cult are scheming as everyone reads this comment?
